Shoot & Share Contest 2016

Shoot & Share was the first contest I ever participated in. It was a free contest to participate in and participants select photos in various categories. All submissions were anonymous to the voters. Voters are presented with a randomly generated matrix of 4 photos that were all in the same category. Based on these votes, a certain number of pictures were eliminated each round (there were 12 rounds), leading up to finalists and eventually winners.

Anyone can vote, but you can’t try to vote for your own photo or have family and friends vote for you because you would literally sit all day looking for it. I didn’t even know I still had photos in the contest by the finalist rounds.

My top finalist photos below were 215 out of 17,751 photos in the family category and 428 or 20,266 photos in the Toddler/Preschooler category. Not bad for a first time participant!

Some stats on the 2016 contest:

  • 74,000 people involved
  • 225,207 photos submitted
  • 32,622,327 million votes
